EdCamp Grand Rapids 2012

If you have never been to an edcamp before, you are missing out. Last year I had the pleasure of attending edcamp Detroit. It was amazing. I meet amazing people, learned amazing things, and presented some of my ideas to an amazing audience. It was a positive place for educators to share ideas and come together.

Edcamps are run different that other conferences. Ideas and sessions are shared by those attending. Everyone is there to learn and share. The atmosphere is one of support for each other as educators.

After last years experience in Detroit I was hooked. I looked for another one in the area and I found it in my backyard. The Kent ISD is hosting an edcamp on Saturday, November 3 in Grand Rapids.

I am hoping for the opportunity to share at the event. Maybe something like creating Common Core Assessments for Math teachers? Not so sure, I may have to see what is already being presented. I like the informal atmosphere of it all.

If you have never had the privilege to attend an edcamp please consider joining us. You will find information and registration information at these links. If you are out of town, you can always find one near you at the edcamp home page.

Did I forget to mention that edcamps are always free? I hope to see you there!
